Importance of Self Love & How to Incorporate it Into your Life
Self Love is one of the foundational blocks to leading a more healthy and well rounded life. Why is that? I’ll tell you why..
The definition of Self Love when looked up is the “regard of one’s own well being and happiness.” If you are taking into your account your own needs then you are able to help others.
Many people do the opposite. They take care of everyone else and they neglect their own needs. This is not productive for you or the other person. We’ve all heard the saying “you cannot fill from an empty cup”. This is one of the main reasons why Self Love is so important and transformative to your physical, emotional & mental well-being.
When I mention that you should take care of your own needs, I mean physiological, emotional, and mental needs.
This means if you are physically tired, you should take a physical rest such as a nap or just to sit down and put your feet up. When you are emotionally depleted, it can present itself as irritability, headaches, nervousness, irrational anger or increased pessimism. When you find these symptoms creeping up, start making small changes into your lifestyle. For example, exercise, limiting alcohol or drug intake, quality sleep and eating healthy are small changes you can implement into your life.
When a person is mentally tired, then you will see them having headaches, mental fatigue, sleeping difficulties. For mental fatigue, you can easily incorporate deep breathing exercises as a way to oxygenate and invigorate the brain and therefore the mind.
Now that you have learned how to incorporate these small daily habits into your life, you will be able to identify when one part of your needs for Self Love is out of balance. Once you identify the need that is out of balance, you can then start to incorporate the small change that fills that need. Once your needs are filled, your cup will be full and will have incorporated Self Love into your life.
May you receive the message intended for you & aligned to your highest purpose.
